This is part of a regular series about the wild cats that have taken over the streets of every Israeli city. Check back regularly to see more cats.
There's a stereotype that cats hate being touched, and simply tolerate being pet for the sake of the food-giving humans they live with. But everyone needs love and affection. Even wild kitties.
Is it worth the risk of fleas and disease to pet them? Yes. Yes it is.
This little guy joined us at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.
As you can see, he was just hamming it up. He demanded pets from everyone, for a good 20 minutes.
Look. He's working the crowd like a stud. Normally I'm not okay with my man hitting on other people in front of me. But when your man is this cute, you let this slide.
But not all of us are so slutty, ehem, I mean popular.
This little lady chose my friend. She's clearly in kitty Heaven. Purrr.
I eventually had my shot. I visited Eilat a few weeks later, and was honored to be chosen.
I didn't make her sit next to me. I had no food to offer. She just wanted to sit with me.
But the traitor left me after two minutes to sit with my friend. I still feel rejected.
No one got fleas from snuggling up to the wild fur babies. 10/10 would recommend it.
